Artist Rick Myers, showing at Artistic License, was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up near Annapolis. A self-taught artist, he was influenced by his mother who was also a painter. Rick was drawing and sculpting from an early age, and began painting to express his deep love and respect for the surrounding countryside. His landscapes are in an impressionist manner to allow the viewer to fill in the details from their own life experiences. Rick’s paintings capture the power, beauty, and timelessness of nature found in the local Virginia mountains.
