Flavor Magazine

This exciting magazine gives you a taste of the abundant varieties of food and wine in Virginia’s Piedmont region. Thomas Jefferson said, “By making this wine vine known to the public, I have rendered my country as great a service as if I had enabled it to pay back the national debt.” We thought we’d supplement Mr. Jefferson’s accomplishment by making the Piedmont’s wineries, vineyards, and winemakers known to the public through a series of features we think even TJ would approve.

Kaye and Rick Kohler, Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate III

Visit our Rappahannock Life website for references, current listings, and tales of Rappahannock. In the spirit of the Tour, we humbly offer a bit of song to the tune of 76 Trombones:

76 farm homes caught the morning light,
with a 110 hillsides right behind,
all protected by strident NOs to developers and so,
we still gaze far across the lands.

There are seven splashing rivers from the mountains blue,
tumbling, tumbling shoreward on their way.
Mountain cabins and enormous great rooms, too,
each full moon having its starry sway . . .

The Piedmont Virginian

The Piedmont Virginian
is a quarterly journal of information and appreciation—of nature, place, and ways of life. For the northern Piedmont region of Virginia—as attested by those who live and visit here—is a special place. Even those far away only familiar with its history must agree. The magazine’s mission is to give voice to this special, even magical, place—in the hope that it remains so.
