Linda Tarry

Linda Tarry (resume) has worked in various art media all her life and several years ago discovered mosaics. Using discarded and broken ceramics, glass, metal, and other ‘junk’ she collected over the years, she puts the pieces together to create something new. Employing traditional ceramic tile cementing and grouting techniques, she adheres the pieces onto various bases, making new three-dimensional sculptures and bas relief wall hangings. In creating these new objects, Tarry hopes to jar the observer into seeing our contemporary world from a slightly different perspective. Her goal with the items she creates is to please and surprise the viewer, and in the process perhaps provoke questions and thought.
