Non-fiction writer and Rappahannock resident Edward Dolnick will talk about his book "The Rescue Artist," a cops and robbers tale of the thieves who stole the painting "The Scream" and the eccentric detective who hunted them down.
"Dolnick's scenario is as good as an Alfred Hitchock thriller with Woody Allen occasionally touching up the script. . . There has never been a better book on art crime."ARTNews

Writer Stephanie Deutsch, who is a member of the Scrabble School Foundation here in Rappahannock, will talk about her new book, You Need a School House, documenting the history of the Julius Rosenwald and Booker T. Washington collaboration that begot the over 5000 "Rosenwald Schools" for Black students in the southern states during the early 1900s.
Scrabble School is one of the few existing free standing Rosenwald Schools. Stephanie's book is a lovely portrayal of the trials and tribulations in the history of black education and is an important story that impacted our community. The book is being touted by the National trust for Historic Preservation, a benefactor of Scrabble School. (Stephanie spoke at the library when she was in the process of researching the material for the book, and at that time became involved with Scrabble School).
