RAAC Movie – Sing Sing

Sing SingRAAC will screen the critically acclaimed, award-winning film, Sing Sing on September 5th.

Directed by Greg Kweder, this inspiring story is based on the real-life “Rehabilitation Through the Arts” program at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison.  The film is about a group of inmates who find purpose and whose lives are transformed through the power of artistic expression, when they form a theater group and stage an original comedy. The stellar cast includes professional actors Colman Domingo, Sean San Jose and Paul Raci, alongside many real-life formerly incarcerated men who were themselves alumni of Sing Sing’s arts program, including Clarence “Divine Eye” Maclin.

Named one of the top ten films of 2024, numerous accolades include National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actor (Domingo), Academy Awards Best Actor nomination for Domingo, and British Academy Awards nominations for Best Actor (Domingo) and Best Supporting Actor (Maclin).

The RAAC film is free.  Donations are welcome to offset production costs.  Hearing assistance is available.
