Sperryville Summer Concert Series celebrates sixth season

The annual series has become a HUGE HIT, and runs over five months, May through September. This year’s lineup includes returning and new top local bands appearing on the Sperryville stage in the River District, at 6PM every third Thursday each month.

The concerts are located near the beautiful confluence of the north and south branches of the Thornton River, at the end of River Lane (accessed from Water Street) next to Copper Fox Antiques and Copper Fox Distillery. For those using GPS, the address is 7 River Lane, Sperryville, VA 22740.

Our 2026 schedule appears below. Watch for an announcement in our Look & Listen newsletter about the 2026 schedule. You can subscribe to Look & Listen here.

May 21 – Rebecca Porter and the Rhinestone Roses
Raised in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley and born in Guam, Rebecca Porter’s bold songwriting and striking voice blend Appalachia with Pacific Island warmth. Her 2023 EP Queen of the Local and 2025 debut Roll with the Punches have earned national acclaim from NPR’s Mountain StageNo Depression, The Bluegrass Situation, KEXP, and Lonesome Highway. Expect a dynamic six-piece band featuring guitars, fiddle, pedal steel, bass, and drums.

June 18 – Pictrola
Known for electrifying performances at festivals like Grey Fox, DelFest, and IBMA Live, Northern Virginia’s Pictrola fuses bluegrass tradition with freewheeling improvisation. Their hit song “More Than We Can Fix” won a 2024 WAMMIE Award, and “Indy Air” landed on Spotify’s Newgrass playlist. The band’s diverse influences — from jazz to jamgrass — make every show unpredictable and full of energy.

Band members: Mike Shade (guitar, vocals), Josh Ungar (mandolin, vocals), Evan Sands (banjo, vocals), Dan Henderson (fiddle, vocals), and Taylor Gerber (bass).

July 16 – District Dad Band
A local favorite with an irreverent twist, District Dad Band gets the crowd dancing to everything from bluegrass to classic rock to pop hits. They promise fun for the whole family — and the occasional surprise cover you didn’t know you needed.

Band members: Paul Kilbridge (guitar, mandolin), Andrew Curry (guitar, bass), Al Masino (banjo, mandolin), David Mortlock (ukulele, harmonica), and Dustin Degrande (beatbox).

August 20 – Tinsmith
For over two decades, Tinsmith has delighted audiences with high-energy Celtic and Appalachian old-time music flavored with touches of blues, funk, and jazz. A three-time invitee to the North Texas Irish Festival, the band has played venues from The Barns at Wolf Trap to the Potomac Celtic Festival.

Band members: Brooke Parkhurst (vocals, tin whistle, banjo, flute), Rowan Corbett (guitar, bouzouki, bones, vocals), and Henry Cross (bass, vocals).

September 17 – Gold Top County Ramblers
This beloved Sperryville-based band brings their signature “string rock” and bluegrass spirit to close out the season.

Band members: Adam Rogers (mandolin, vocals), Jesse Rogers (bass), Tucker Rogers (resonator guitar), Matt Davis (banjo), James Reid (drums), and Evan Childress (fiddle).

Bring a picnic or grab a bite from local favorites like New Iberia Kitchen, Off the Grid Indulgent Scullery, C&C Frozen Treats, Yukon’s Treats and Copper Fox Distillery.
