Film Talkback – News Without a Newsroom

RAAC and Foothills Forum will present a film/talk-back featuring the compelling documentary–News Without a Newsroom–at Little Washington Theatre, Friday, November 14 at 7PM.

The film, directed by Oana Martisca and funded by the Knight Foundation, opens with wonderful images of the golden age of local news, featuring the bustling newsroom of the Miami Herald. It continues with comments by dozens of notable journalists, describing the transformation that moved quickly in the wake of advertising losses. It ends with a call to action, looking at new kinds of nonprofit and other organizations committed to news coverage that can restore the public trust.

Following the film will be a conversation about the evolving wave of innovation, featuring Rappahannock News publisher Dennis Brack.

The film/talk-back is free. Hearing assistance is available.
