RAAC Movie – I’m Still Here

I'm Still HereRAAC’s July movie is the 2024 drama, I’m Still Here, based on the 2015 autobiography written by Brazilian novelist and screenwriter, Marcelo Rubens Paiva, about his father–Rubens Paiva–a dissident politician who went missing, and was murdered during Brazil’s military dictatorship in 1971. The film depicts the impact of Paiva’s disappearance on his family’s life, especially on the writer’s mother, Eunice Paiva (Fernanda Torres), an activist coping with the loss of her husband, Rubens Paiva (Selton Mello).

Among the film’s many accolades, Torres became the first Brazilian, South American and Portuguese-speaking actor to win the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture–Drama. The film also won the Oscar for Best International Feature Film, becoming the first-ever Brazilian-produced film to win an Academy Award.

The RAAC film is free, but donations are welcome to offset production costs. Hearing assistance is available.
